The Opportunity
This is a rare chance to own the marketing function at a company that leads its market. You will be responsible for shaping and executing the marketing strategy for Veridian – working closely with our established marketing agency to bring it to life, and with senior leadership to ensure it reflects our commercial goals.
You won’t be a generalist marketer here. We’re looking for someone who thinks strategically, is fluent in the language of data, and understands how to build presence and authority in a specialist market. You’ll balance two complementary objectives: cementing Veridian’s position as the definitive thought leader for our existing customer base, and building the pipeline of new logo opportunities that will drive our 2040 ambition.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Ownership
- Own and evolve Veridian’s marketing strategy, aligned to business objectives and growth targets
- Define and maintain the annual marketing plan, budget allocation, and performance framework
- Act as the internal marketing authority – the strategic counterpoint to our external agency
- Drive forward the Veridian brand, ensuring consistency across all customer touchpoints
Customer Engagement & Thought Leadership
- Develop a content and communications strategy that educates and deepens relationships with our existing customer base
- Build Veridian’s profile as a thought leader in the cruise sector through white papers, webinars, industry events, and editorial content
- Oversee customer communications, ensuring they are timely, relevant, and consistent with the Veridian brand voice
New Logo Acquisition & Lead Generation
- Design and execute lead generation campaigns that identify and attract new cruise line prospects
- Work with sales and leadership to develop targeted account-based marketing (ABM) approaches for high-value prospects
- Build the marketing infrastructure needed to track, nurture, and convert leads across the funnel
Account-Based Marketing & Sales Collaboration
- Work hand-in-hand with the account team to develop and execute targeted ABM strategies for key prospects and existing accounts
- Build a deep understanding of target accounts – their organisational structure, priorities, and pain points – to inform highly tailored campaign development
- Co-create personalised campaign assets and messaging with the account team that speak directly to the needs of individual prospects or customer segments
- Establish a feedback loop between sales and marketing to continuously refine targeting, messaging, and campaign performance based on frontline insight
- Support the account team with relevant collateral, case studies, and thought leadership content that strengthens relationships and accelerates pipeline
Digital, SEO & GEO
- Own Veridian’s SEO strategy – ensuring we are discoverable, credible, and well-positioned in organic search
- Stay ahead of developments in Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO), ensuring Veridian’s content is well-represented in AI-generated search responses and large language model outputs
- Oversee the performance of our digital channels, including the website, LinkedIn, and email marketing
Data & Performance
- Use data to drive all marketing decisions – from campaign targeting to content prioritisation
- Define KPIs and report on marketing performance to leadership, with clear attribution to business outcomes
- Continuously test, learn, and optimise based on what the data tells you
Agency & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary day-to-day client contact for our marketing agency – setting direction, reviewing output, and holding them accountable to results
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, product, and leadership to ensure marketing is enabling commercial success

About You
Essential
- Proven experience in a senior or strategic marketing role, ideally within B2B or specialist sectors
- Comfort in build, owning and executing a marketing strategy
- Strong command of SEO strategy, with hands-on experience driving organic growth
- Familiarity with GEO / AI search optimisation and an understanding of how generative AI is reshaping discoverability
- Highly data literate – comfortable working with analytics platforms, attribution modelling, and performance dashboards
- Experience managing or working closely with external agencies or creative partners
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to craft compelling content and present strategy persuasively
- Self-directed and structured – comfortable owning a function without day-to-day oversight
Desirable
- Experience in the maritime, cruise, or travel sector – or in markets with long sales cycles and complex stakeholder relationships
- Exposure to account-based marketing (ABM) methodologies
- Experience supporting a brand rebrand or brand evolution programme
- Familiarity with Salesforce/HubSpot or similar CRM/marketing automation platforms

Hiring Process
The hiring process is expected to be in 3 stages:
1st Stage – Virtual Phone Interview
An initial virtual interview with the Chief Commercial Officer to explore your aspirations, experience, technical competencies and suitability for the role.
2nd Stage – Face to Face Interview
A face to face interview at our Manchester office exploring behavioural competencies and alignment to our culture. You’ll meet the Chief Commercial Officer, our People Partner, and members of the commercial team.
3rd Stage – Final Interview
A final face to face interview at our Manchester office with the Chief Commercial Officer, People Partner and CEO. You’ll complete a task and have the opportunity to address any remaining questions – from both sides.
